Metro Cruise PIT STOP sites

There are more ways than ever to enjoy your favorite auto event.  These sites are all unique, but will each have one or more auto-related entertainment features, have some great local food, and offer easier access.

Each PIT STOP site will host a minimum of 4 key features – car club(s), food vendors, free 2hr collector car parking, and unique auto-related entertainment features.  Each site will be completely unique in its offerings, and many people visit them all.  They are all open to the public with space for free general parking and collector car parking.  If you have a collector car and are cruisin’ 28th Street, look for the Collector Car Parking Only section at each site.  Scroll down to learn what each Pit Stop site will entail, and the different sites we’re hosting this year.

Metro Cruise PIT STOP at Car City

Just a half mile west of the MAIN EVENT site at Rogers Plaza, this will be easy stop!  This event will be on the west end of the Car City property, on the north side of 28th Street. (ADDRESS: 1515 28th Street SW, Wyoming, MI)

CAR RELATED ENTERTAINMENT:

• RC Car entertainment – race track, custom off-road trailer, supplies, more!  If you love racing RC cars or just watching, this site is a must visit.  Featuring a fully carpeted 40’x60′ track, with timing, this will be a fun display.  Courtesy of Grand River RC.
• Barn Finds display – come view 5 very unique barn find vehicles – some untouched, some fully restored, and learn the stories.

Metro Cruise PIT STOP at SHERATON Grand Rapids

Also the site of one of our Official hotel partners (they’re offering King-size rooms for just $119/night, BOOK HERE!), this site will be packed with fun at a great location.  It will feature some refreshing seasonally-inspired drinks, and some great local food.

This event will be on the west end of the Sheraton property, on the southeast corner of 28th Street & Foremost Drive. (ADDRESS: 5700 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI).

Metro Cruise PIT STOP at Oakestown-Borgman

This event will be a shared site – on the east side of the Borgman Ford property, and the west half of the Oakestown Mall property – on the south side of 28th Street. (ADDRESS: 3000 28th Street SW, Grandville)

CAR CLUBS: 

• West Michigan Mustang Club – the largest single-club gathering of any of our event sites, come 150 mustangs in one spot

• Being Cheesy – gourmet grilled cheese
• Ice Box Brand – west Michigan famous ice creams with locally sourced ingredients

• MEGA trucks courtesy of Auto Care Excellence – featuring HULK: a 1400HP Chevy big block, on 2 1/2 ton military axles with 55″ tires.  Also, PAPA SMURF: an 800HP Chevy on 2 1/2 ton military axles, with 48 tractor tires.
• Lucky’s Car Smash – take a sledge hammer to either a U of M or MSU painted vehicle
• Car Cube by Weller – guess the super-compressed car cube for a chance at a $500 prize

Metro Cruise PIT STOP at Baker Auto Group – Grandville

The first official Metro Cruise site in Grandville, we are so excited to connect with the west-end of 28th Street!  (ADDRESS: 2901 28th Street SW, Grandville)

• CLASSICS FOR SALE – the only official Metro Cruise site with collector cars for sale!  No fee or registration, cars may only be parked during event hours (Sat 12pm-7pm) in the designated area, and may not be left overnight.  Looking to sell your collector car, OR looking to buy?  This is the place to visit!  There will be approximately 12 spaces available.

Metro Cruise PIT STOP at Cascade Village

The site of the Thursday night before Metro Cruise event called the ‘Warm Up’, we will re-open this site on Saturday.  Located at the very end of 28th Street, this is an excellent spot to stop, take a break, and head back west. (ADDRESS: 6797 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546)

Metro Cruise PIT STOP at Grandville Plaza

Come check out our first PIT STOP off 28th Street.  Conveniently located on Wilson just north of Chicago Drive.  Co-organized by Le Vintage Rose Retro Shoppe. (ADDRESS: 2905 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, MI 49418)

• Metro-Market, a unique arts & crafts market – with a car theme.  Some or all of each vendor’s products to feature car-related items!  From repurposed license plates, to beads in car shapes, children’s books, jewelry, car air diffusers, car phone mounts, keychains, and more.  Come shop the 15 local crafters and artisans that will be at this unique feature.
• Collector Car parking – open to any and all collector cars!  First-come, first-served, no fees or reservations
